“Casa de Diego” open since 1858, has its own workshop of handmade umbrellas and fans. A centenary store that has entered the world of luxury is “Capas Seseña”, specialized in capes made of felt, wool and other materials. The only traditional tailor’s atelier left in Spain is “Sastrería Lopez Herbon” they operate on a one-to-one basis so prior appointment is necessary.

 

The Ramírez family began making guitars in 1882 under the brand “Guitarras Ramirez” – and have been hand crafting world-class guitars ever since.

 

Maty is visited by every professional flamenco dancer in Madrid. It also offers pumps, hoops earrings, hair-combs, and silk flowers.  They have even a costume section.

 

CASA MIRA owned by the Mira family since 1845 and specializing in turrón (traditional nougat usually eaten during Christmas)

 

The sweets “la Violeta” has been immortalized with its violets and candied violet sweets, which have become an iconic sweet of Madrid.

 

“Casa Botin” is the oldest restaurant in the world according to the Guinness Book and together with “Lahrdi”, which was the first haute cuisine restaurant in the city, are perhaps the most distinguished historical restaurants in the city.
