What to do in Madrid during the Champions League final?<\/h2>\n

Aside from enjoying the 9PM match on Saturday June 1, Madrid Experience would like to suggest a few ideas that will make you enjoy all the time you spend in the capital.<\/p>\n

Enjoy one of the best stadiums in the world<\/h3>\n

One of the options any football fan choses when visiting Madrid is to do a tour of one of the most famous football stadiums in the world: Santiago Bernabeu<\/strong>. We recommend<\/strong> you visit the stadium<\/strong>, learn about its history, step on the grass and even dine enjoying the views of the field. No doubt this is an experience any lover of football would enjoy. If you are after a special VIP experience, we can arrange for a private visit of the stadium for you and your guests once it has closed to the general public, and then end the visit with a dinner.<\/p>\n

Madrid\u2019s signature spots<\/h3>\n

One of our favorite places is Madrid\u00b4s Royal Palace<\/strong>, a beautiful white palace located within the city centre. This\u00a0 magnificent building is almost twice as large as Versailles and has double the rooms, making it western Europe\u2019s largest city palace.<\/p>\n

Seeing the palace\u2019s interior\u2019s is a must, so, why not to take a VIP Tour of Madrid<\/strong><\/a> \u00a0for you to learn about the stories and anecdotes of the monarchs who lived there. We recommend you visit the Prado Museum<\/strong> and enjoy some of the most important works in western art, such as Velazquez\u2019s \u201cLas Meninas,\u201d Bosch\u2019s \u201cThe Garden of Earthly Delights,\u201dor Goya\u2019s \u201cNaked Maja,\u201d who was rumoured to be the Duchess of Alba.<\/p>\n

You can also take in works by El Greco, and the mostly unknown, but extremely valuable, collection of items, dishes and objects d\u2019art which make up the collection known as \u201cThe Dauphin\u2019s Treasure,\u201d which came to Spain with Philip V, Spain\u2019s first Bourbon monarch and the son of France\u2019s Louis XIV- in the XVIII century. If you have already visited El Prado, or if you prefer modern and contemporary art, we can organise a visit to the Reina Sof\u00eda Modern Art Museum<\/strong>, where you can take in Picasso\u2019s \u201cGuernika\u201d as well as other works by Mir\u00f3 or Salvador Dal\u00ed.<\/p>\n

But there is a large choice of museums to visit in Spain\u00b4s capital which will surprise you and are well worth a visit. Places like the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Royal Academy of San Fernando, where Goya was once an art student, the Museum of Romanticism, housed in a bourgeoise home from the XIX century, the Sorolla Museum (one of our favourites) or the L\u00e1zaro Galdiano Museum, which holds a fascinating collection of art and several personal objects of Mr. Galdiano, a famous publishing editor and art collector.<\/p>\n

Madrid\u2019s most famous neighbourhoods<\/h3>\n

You can\u2019t leave the capital without having taken a stroll through some of Madrid\u2019s most celebrated neighbourhoods<\/strong>. Have lunch in La Latina<\/strong>, taking in some delicious tapas or discover the hidden charm of Malasa\u00f1a<\/strong> in a day filled with experiences. Visit the elegant neighbourhood of Salamanca and stop at some of its internationally-renowned luxury shops and boutiques. Finally, stroll around Old Madrid<\/strong>, taking in some of the city\u2019s oldest shops and ancient streets.<\/p>\n

Ancient Bars- the best places to eat in Madrid<\/h3>\n

It is well known that those who come to Spain expect to eat, and eat well. Madrid has a great variety of restaurants which range from places offering great tapas<\/strong> and Spanish delicacies such as calamari sandwiches<\/strong>, Madrilenian stew<\/strong> or the famous tortilla de patatas<\/strong> (potato omelette), to Michelin-starred establishments. Some of the most famous restaurants right now are Amaz\u00f3nico, El Ten con Ten, Diverxo and Triciclo.<\/p>\n

Heavens Above! \u2013 Madrid\u00b4s Terraces<\/h3>\n

One of the most fascinating things about Madrid is the chance to enjoy views of its skyline from one of the city\u2019s many terraces<\/strong>. Visit the Salvador Bachiller garden terrace and take in the ambiance. Otherwise, mingle with the Jet Set in terraces like Picalagartos SkyBar. There is no shortage of sky-high terraces in Madrid!<\/p>\n

Shopping in Madrid<\/h3>\n

If you enjoy shopping, Madrid is the perfect place to while the afternoon away indulging in some retail therapy<\/strong>. Take a walk in the Salesas neighbourhood, Gran V\u00eda Boulevard, or Fuencarral street, looking for the city\u2019s best souvenirs. But if you desire more exclusivity, go to Serrano Street, Velazquez Street, or Claudio Coello Street.
